Safety Skinning Hook

This is an safety skinning hook. While skinning an animal around the head, after the first ear hole is freed, insert the hook into the hole instead of your finger. This allows you to move your hand away from your knife blade and hold pressure on your hide as you skin it. As you move down the head, place your hook in the eye hole and finish skinning the head. This helps to keep your fingers safe and is easier to pull the skin down with the hook instead of your hand.
